ACHIEVA — Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and handle your data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and the requirements of the Apple App Store and Google Play.

1. Information we collect

You provide:

• Account info: name/nickname, email, password (handled by Firebase Authentication — we never see your raw password), and profile avatar/photo.
• Tutor profiles (if you become a tutor): headline, bio, rate, subjects, languages, experience, availability, certificates and certificate photos, profile photo, and social/contact details you add.
• Messages & bookings: chats with tutors/students, lesson bookings, and reviews/ratings.
• AI Tutor chats: the questions and conversation text you send to the AI Tutor.

Camera & microphone (live tutoring): during a live video session your camera and microphone stream directly between you and the other participant through the Jitsi Meet video service. These live audio/video streams are not recorded or stored by ACHIEVA. Access is only requested when you join a call, and you can revoke it anytime in your device settings.

Collected automatically: usage & progress (XP, levels, badges, scores, streaks, quiz/exam results) and basic device/diagnostic info for reliability.

2. How we use your information

• Operate the App (accounts, content, gamification, leaderboards).
• Run the tutor marketplace (matching, messaging, bookings, reviews).
• Provide AI tutoring (your messages are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply).
• Maintain safety and prevent abuse.
• Process payments for paid features.
• Improve the App and provide support.

3. Sharing & visibility

• Other users: your name and avatar appear on the leaderboard. Tutor profiles are publicly visible to signed-in users. A tutor's private contact details are hidden until you have a confirmed booking.
• Service providers: Google Firebase (auth, database, storage); Anthropic (powers the AI Tutor; AI chat text is processed to generate responses) via our Cloudflare serverless proxy; Jitsi Meet (peer-to-peer live video calls); and our payment processors — Google Play Billing for in-app purchases on Android and PayMongo for payments made on the web.
• We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law.

4. International data transfers

Our providers (Firebase, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Jitsi, PayMongo, Google Play) may process data on servers outside the Philippines, relying on their security and contractual safeguards.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You may request deletion anytime. Some records may be retained as required by law or for fraud prevention.

6. Your rights (RA 10173)

You may access, correct, update, or delete your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights or delete your account and data, email supportachieva@gmail.com. You may also complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).

7. Children

ACHIEVA is intended for users preparing for professional licensure exams (generally 18+). It is not directed to children under 13.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, Firebase security rules, server-side API keys). No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the App or via email, and the effective date above will change.
